Contribution towards implementation of the Minamata Convention on Mercury and phasing out and disposing of mercury added products in Antigua and Barbuda

Objective 1: Develop a country strategy/roadmap to phase out and properly dispose of mercury-added products based on the Zero Mercury Working Group (ZWMG) checklist guide and in close cooperation with the national focal point, Zero Waste Antigua Barbuda (ZWAB), and relevant stakeholders.

Objective 2: Implement the steps included in the roadmap, including:

• study the capacity for the national market transition to mercury-free/convention compliant products;
• put in place the relevant legislation complying with the provisions of MC Art. 4, and
• establish solid grounds for the sustainable enforcement of these provisions

Objective 3: Increase awareness about the dangers of mercury by relevant stakeholders
